Ring sizing
& resizing.

The ring you love should fit the way it deserves to. We size rings up or down by hand at our Diss workshop, carefully, and with respect for the piece, whatever its age. A family workshop in Diss since 1975.

A ring made to fit, by hand in Diss.

Sized by hand, in-house. Whether it’s too tight, too loose, or inherited and never quite right, we adjust the shank, re-form the ring to a true circle, and finish it so the join is invisible, never sent away to a third party.

Care for the tricky ones. Eternity rings, antique settings, and patterned or engraved bands all need a gentler approach. We’ll always tell you honestly what’s possible before we start.

How much does ring resizing cost?

It depends on the metal and how far the size is moved. As a guide, resizing starts from:

Silver rings

Sizing a silver band up or down. For inexpensive silver rings it’s often better value to order your size instead. We’ll advise.

from £45

9ct & 18ct gold

The most common resize. The price rises with the carat, the width of the band and how far the size is moved.

from £60

Platinum, eternity & heavier bands

More involved work, full-eternity settings, wide or intricate bands and platinum all need extra time and care.

Most rings are sized and back on your finger within the week. If you need it for a particular date, let us know and we’ll do our best.

Can you resize a ring bought elsewhere?

Yes. We resize and repair rings bought anywhere, including inherited pieces and rings from other jewellers. Bring it in and a goldsmith will check it over with you first.

Can you resize an eternity or antique ring?

Often, yes. But these need extra care. Bring it in and a goldsmith will look at it with you and explain exactly what can be done.

My ring is stuck and won’t come off. Can you help?

Yes. We remove stuck rings free of charge in the shop with a specialist cutter that protects your finger, see our ring removal page. We recommend waiting about two weeks after removal before we size or quote, so your finger can settle.

My ring won’t pass a swollen or arthritic knuckle. Can you help?

Yes. Ask us about Superfit. It’s a custom ring-sizing technique with a discreet, micro-engineered hinge that opens to slip over the knuckle, then closes for a secure fit at the base of the finger.
