Nothing to sell you
A valuation is only worth what the eye behind it knows. Ours has spent fifty years making the very things it assesses, metals, cuts, settings and hallmarks read at a glance.
Full material transparency. We tell you exactly what a piece is (metal, carat, stone quality and likely age) and show you how we arrived at the figure, in plain terms.
Independent and fair. We’re not trying to buy your piece or upsell a replacement. The valuation stands on its own, so it holds up with insurers and executors alike.

Request a valuation ↗︎How much does a valuation cost?
It depends on the piece and the type of valuation. As a guide, assessments and insurance or probate valuations start from around £45, and pre-sale or market valuations from £55. We’ll always confirm the cost with you before we begin.
What types of valuation do you offer?
Insurance replacement valuations, probate and estate valuations, and pre-sale or market appraisals, each documented clearly for its purpose, and assessed in-house by our own goldsmiths.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Valuations are by appointment, so a goldsmith can give your pieces proper, unhurried attention. Send us a request and we’ll usually reply within two working days.
Should I bring any paperwork?
If you have receipts, certificates or previous valuations, do bring them along. They help, but they’re not essential. We assess every piece in person, on its own merits.
How long does a valuation take?
For straightforward pieces it’s often completed within the appointment; more detailed or antique items may take a little longer. We’ll always tell you what to expect before we start.
