Terms & Conditions of Sale
These terms govern the sale of goods and services by The Jewellery Workshop (The Jewellery Workshop Ltd, company number 08591112, registered at Yare House, 62-64 Thorpe Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 1RY, VAT 342 4101 07) through thejewelleryworkshop.co.uk. By placing an order you agree to them.
1. Ordering
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send confirmation that your order has been accepted and dispatched. We may decline an order, for example where an item is unavailable or a pricing error has occurred.
2. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. Payment is taken at checkout via PayPal. We make every effort to ensure prices are correct but reserve the right to correct genuine errors.
3. Hallmarking and materials
Precious metal items are hallmarked in accordance with UK law (hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office where required). Natural gemstones may vary slightly in colour and inclusions; such variation is a feature of natural materials, not a fault.
4. Bespoke, commissioned and personalised items
Commissioned, made-to-order, resized and personalised (e.g. engraved) pieces are made to your specification. As permitted by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the 14-day right to cancel does not apply to these items, except where they are faulty or not as described. A deposit of [DEPOSIT %/AMOUNT] may be required and may be non-refundable once work begins. Timescales are estimates.
5. Delivery
Orders are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery (insured, tracked and signed for). For in-stock items ordered before 13:00 Monday–Friday (excluding bank holidays) we dispatch the same day; orders placed at the weekend are dispatched the next working day. Items are dispatched only once full payment has been received, verified and accepted. We currently deliver to UK addresses only. Risk passes to you on delivery.
- Delivery cost: free for orders over £50; otherwise a flat £6.50.
- Signature: the parcel must be signed for, and this signature is used as proof of delivery. If someone without authority signs at the address you provided, this is not the responsibility of The Jewellery Workshop.
- Missed delivery: if you are unavailable to sign, the item is returned to a Royal Mail depot and collection becomes your responsibility.
- Bespoke orders: delivery timescales are discussed and agreed with you.
- Packaging: your jewellery arrives in a Jewellery Workshop presentation box, securely packed; gift wrapping is available on request.
We cannot be held liable for late delivery caused by circumstances beyond our control.
6. Cancellations and returns
For standard (non-personalised) items, you may cancel within 14 days of receipt under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Full details, exclusions and how to return are in our Returns Policy.
7. Your legal rights and our liability
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including that goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. We do not exclude liability for death, personal injury or fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to those rights, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for breach of an implied warranty or condition is limited to re-supplying the goods or services (or paying the cost of having them re-supplied); we accept no liability for any consequential loss; and use of this website and our services is at your own risk.
8. Repairs, remodelling and customer’s own materials
Where we repair or remodel items, or work with materials you supply, we take all reasonable care. [ADD any specific terms about insurance, valuations and liability for customer’s own items.]
9. Intellectual property
The copyright in all content on this website — including graphics, images, layouts and text — belongs to us or is used under licence. Trademarks, brands and logos shown here (whether or not marked ™ or ®) are owned by us or used under licence. Accessing the site does not grant you any right to use those marks commercially without our prior written permission.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to its courts.
