Repairs / Stone replacement

Stone
replacement & resetting.

A lost diamond needn’t mean a lost ring. We source and set replacement stones by hand at our Diss workshop, matched to the original for cut, colour and size as closely as the eye allows. A family workshop in Diss since 1975.

A gap where a stone should be is never just cosmetic. It’s a setting under strain. We match the stone, then set it securely so the piece looks whole again, often invisibly.

Sourced to match. From diamonds to coloured gemstones, we draw on trade contacts to find a stone that sits right beside the ones you’ve kept, for colour, clarity and proportion.

Set to last. Whether it’s a single claw setting or a full pavé line, the new stone is set by hand and checked under magnification before the piece leaves us.

Stone replacement — questions

Pop in to ask

How much does stone replacement cost?

Resetting a loose stone starts from around £50. Replacing a lost stone depends on the stone itself. A small accent might be £50–£150, while matching a diamond or coloured gem is quoted on the stone’s value. As our prices move with the gold price, we’ll always confirm before any work begins.

Can you match my existing stones?

In most cases, yes. We match cut, colour and size as closely as possible, and we’ll show you the stone before setting so you’re happy with it.

What if I’ve lost the original stone?

No problem. We can source a replacement to suit. Bring the piece in and we’ll assess the setting and quote you before any work begins.

Do you replace stones in antique pieces?

We do, and with care. Older settings are often delicate, so we use laser tools where needed to protect the surrounding metal and stones.

Let’s make it whole again.
