Fifty years,
one bench.
Founded in 1975, and still family-run. We design and make jewellery by hand in our workshop above the shop in Diss — bespoke commissions, repairs, and a curated collection. We work with customers from across the Norfolk–Suffolk border, from Diss and Harleston to Eye and the surrounding villages.

1975
Fifty years
Family-run
It began in 1975 with a single bench in Diss, and the idea that a well-made piece should outlast its maker. Fifty years on, the family still works side by side.
Everything happens in-house. Design, making, stone-setting, repairs and restoration all take place at our own bench above the shop, so when you bring us a commission or a treasured piece, you speak directly to the person working on it.
We still finish every piece by hand. It’s slower, and we prefer it that way: a hand-finish gives jewellery a character no machine would, which is why so many of our pieces are still worn, and re-worn, generations later.
We’d sooner mend a piece than see it replaced.
The Jewellery Workshop — since 1975Made by hand
Designed and finished at our own bench, with methods refined over fifty years. Heirloom quality, built to be worn for a lifetime and handed on.
Kinder materials
Recycled gold, ethically sourced and reclaimed stones, and heirlooms remade — the same metal, without the mining.
Always part of it
Honest, supportive advice with no obligation — and a free annual check-up on anything we make. You’re always part of the workshop.
The hands behind
every piece.
We have been family-run since 1975, on the same corner of the Diss Heritage Triangle. The people who greet you in the gallery are the ones who cut, set and mend at the bench: Hatton Garden-trained goldsmiths, a lead designer, and gemmology behind the counter.
Our Designer, Goldsmiths & Jewellers
Lead Designer
Lead Designer
Yvonne
Leads all bespoke design
Yvonne leads our bespoke design and takes every commission from first idea to finished piece. She works with the jewellers at the bench and with you, running the design consultations and drawing the illustrated design options that show your piece before we make it.
Senior Goldsmith
Mark
Bespoke & in-depth restoration
Mark has spent about thirty years at our bench. He designs and makes bespoke pieces and takes on the in-depth restorations others turn away, remaking a worn ring from the metal up. He has a soft spot for the unusual and for a fine gemstone.
Goldsmith · Hatton Garden trained
Paul
Bespoke making & mounting
Paul joined us in 2025 with more than forty years at the bench. Hatton Garden trained and a professional mounter, he has worked for some of London’s luxury houses. He makes bespoke pieces by hand and restores heirlooms.
Jeweller · Hatton Garden trained
Lyn
Repairs & restoration
Lyn has been at our bench for over forty years. Hatton Garden trained, she repairs and restores heirloom jewellery, putting worn pieces back into wear.
Repairs & Remodelling
Eve
Laser-welding & remodelling
Eve handles repairs, laser-welding and remodelling. With the workshop’s laser welders and microscopes she mends and remakes pieces that older tools would have written off.

Front of House
Sales & Accounts
Victoria
Accounts & stringing
Victoria has been a familiar face here for seventeen years. She keeps the accounts and the shop in order, strings delicate pieces, and helps each customer find the right piece. Her own taste runs to simple white-metal designs and labradorite.
Creative Assistant
Sophie
Photography & social media
Sophie started here as a Saturday girl fifteen years ago, her first job. She went into luxury fashion, then came back to the trade in 2020. She looks after photography, social media and the displays, and shoots the pieces you see online.
“Every piece of jewellery tells a story, and I love helping to share those stories.”
Saturday Assistant
Matilda
Weekend front of house
Matilda has helped out on Saturdays for a few years, alongside her studies. She is organised, good with customers, lends a hand with the displays, and has a knack for matching a piece to the person.
The Family Behind the Workshop
Directors
Jennie & Jerome
Jennie owns The Jewellery Workshop, carrying on the business her late husband John founded in 1975. She keeps a creative hand in it and is set on the shop staying part of the Diss community. Their son Jerome, a designer, gave the workshop its branding and logo, refitted the shop and rebuilt this website, and now helps run the day to day.
Pop in — the kettle’s on. Whether you’re planning a commission, bringing a piece for repair, or curious about the craft, you’re welcome at the bench — with honest advice and no obligation.
