 Gemstones To Get Lost In

Our client was mesmerised by this ocean hued opal and requested for it to be used in a bespoke ring alongside a diamond that she had inherited. Our designer goldsmith Laura created a piece that incorporated the stones in a contemporary way, with the yellow gold bezel setting enhancing the opals unique play-of-colour.

If you are interested in viewing our stock of precious gemstones please book a consultation with our gemstone expert Laura, she will be happy to advise when it comes to selecting the perfect stones for you.

Notes from the workshop

Boulder opals are often confused for opal doublets (a man made composite stone), this is due to the brown base material looking like it has been attached onto a thin layer of opal. In fact a boulder opal is a completely natural stone and is cut like this to bring stability to the coloured section of opal.
