This bead string was hand picked loose by our shop team. By choosing beads loose they are picked for their exceptional quality and value. The loose string was then admired by one of our clients and personalised as required with 18ct yellow gold rondelles and a bespoke Jewellery Workshop clasp. Charlotte, our in house pearl and bead stringer, then constructed the necklace using silk thread. Our shop undertakes a range of stringing commissions repairs and restorations all on-site.
Notes from the workshop
Knotting a strand on silk thread between each bead, rather than stringing them straight through, is traditional for fine beadwork: if the thread ever breaks, only one bead is at risk of falling rather than the whole string.
