When sourcing loose gemstones our workshop sometimes likes to buy something slightly unusual. This stunning pale green pear shaped tourmaline was one of those purchases, which was perfect for our customer who wanted a heart shaped ring. Our senior goldsmith Mark utilised the shape of the tourmaline to create a classic heart shape with a round brilliant halo.
The tourmaline is set in an 18ct white gold rub over collet to give maximum protection to the stone and a clean minimal look. The contrasting shank was made using 18ct yellow gold to emphasize the green tourmaline colour. In our workshop we have a hand picked selection of loose stones that can be designed into your perfect piece, or stones can be ordered in ‘on approval’ for you to choose from.
