Fifty years,
one bench.
Founded in 1975, and still family-run. We design and make jewellery by hand in our workshop above the shop in Diss — bespoke commissions, repairs, and a curated collection. We work with customers from across the Norfolk–Suffolk border, from Diss and Harleston to Eye and the surrounding villages.

1975
Fifty years
Family-run
It began in 1975 with a single bench in Diss, and the idea that a well-made piece should outlast its maker. Fifty years on, the family still works side by side.
Everything happens in-house. Design, making, stone-setting, repairs and restoration all take place at our own bench above the shop, so when you bring us a commission or a treasured piece, you speak directly to the person working on it.
We still finish every piece by hand. It’s slower, and we prefer it that way: a hand-finish gives jewellery a character no machine would, which is why so many of our pieces are still worn, and re-worn, generations later.
We’d sooner mend a piece than see it replaced.
The Jewellery Workshop — since 1975Made by hand
Designed and finished at our own bench, with methods refined over fifty years. Heirloom quality, built to be worn for a lifetime and handed on.
Kinder materials
Recycled gold, ethically sourced and reclaimed stones, and heirlooms remade — the same metal, without the mining.
Always part of it
Honest, supportive advice with no obligation — and a free annual check-up on anything we make. You’re always part of the workshop.
The hands behind
every piece.
We have been family-run since 1975, on the same corner of the Diss Heritage Triangle. The people who greet you in the gallery are the ones who cut, set and mend at the bench: Hatton Garden-trained goldsmiths, a lead designer, and gemmology behind the counter.

The Family Behind the Workshop
Directors
Jennie & Jerome
Jennie owns The Jewellery Workshop, carrying on the business her late husband John founded in 1975. She keeps a creative hand in it and is set on the shop staying part of the Diss community. Their son Jerome, a designer, gave the workshop its branding and logo, refitted the shop and rebuilt this website, and now helps run the day to day.
Pop in — the kettle’s on. Whether you’re planning a commission, bringing a piece for repair, or curious about the craft, you’re welcome at the bench — with honest advice and no obligation.
