Bespoke
Multi ~ Stone Gents Signet Ring
‘The Family Tree’
~
During the bespoke consultation our customer had a very clear idea of what he wanted to commission, even entering the workshop with his own beautiful hand drawn design! The ring holds great sentimental value with each stone representing a member of his family. The rope that runs diagonally through the surface of the signet ring is made of hand carved turquoise and lapis (birthstones representing himself and his wife) symbolising their intertwined relationship. The stones in each corner of the ring are rose cut citrine, moonstone, garnet, aquamarine and diamonds the larger stones representing their children and the smaller their grandchildren. The piece was then hand finished with a intricately polished, minute stippled texture.
Notes from the workshop
Historically people wore signet rings as a form of status, they often had family crests engraved in reverse on them so that the rings could be pressed into hot wax and used as seal of authenticity. Today, many people wear signet rings as stylish accessories, but in essence they remain as a sentimental heirloom that displays the thread of family heritage and tradition.
Client Review
“It’s a place where dreams can become reality. My sketch on a scrap of paper became a high quality item of bespoke jewellery to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. It took time, patience and a great deal of skill from a number of people to produce an end result worthy of any London jeweller.”
