Gold and Sapphire Rub Over Solitaire

This contemporary solitaire started as a loose sapphire from a trip to Sri Lanka. After having a look at our selection of handmade items in the shop, our customer decided upon a similar ring also set with a sapphire but in platinum. We handmade this ring using her unwanted gold items to match the example used in the shop but with her bigger stone. The rub over setting provides maximum security to the stone whilst also being practical without claws catching on clothing. The yellow gold colouring also works well with the blue of the sapphire creating a rich and desirable ring.
