Amethyst & Garnet Cocktail Ring
‘Indian Inspiration’
~
Our client came to us wanting a colourful, statement ring with elements of Indian design as the inspiration. After falling in love with this 16x12mm cabochon amethyst as the focal point of the ring, our client then wanted accent stones that provided a high contrast and eccentric element. Our designer goldsmith Laura sourced bright orange mandarin and zesty green tsavorite garnets to surround the amethyst alongside complimentary round cut diamonds.
The shape of the ring is inspired by Indian prints, with the organic form and horizontal alignment creating a bold statement on the hand. The piece is formed in rich 9ct yellow gold adding yet another pop of colour to this one-of-a-kind piece.
Notes from the workshop
A cabochon is a stone that is cut and polished in the shape of a dome (often convex in shape) with a flat underside, this method of stone cutting has no facets, showing off the stones natural beauty and colour.
