18ct Rose Gold 3 Stone Old-Cut Diamond

This ring was remounted with us into a bespoke 18ct rose gold mount. The diamonds used are what we call ‘old-cut’ which means they were cut before the optimisation of diamond cutting as you would buy on the high street today. Old-cut diamonds often feature irregular facets and proportions, which gives each diamond a unique character and visual appeal. They also usually have a ‘culet’ which is a flat facet on the point of the back of the diamond which was previously used to increase durability of this vulnerable part of the diamond. This is visible through the heart of the diamond.
Our customer changed the previous mount from 18ct white gold to 18ct rose gold. The warmer colour was something that she desired, plus the added bonus of no rhodium plating maintenance. Rose gold is created using pure gold alloyed with copper for a warm rose colour.
