The Jewellery Workshop provides a comprehensive list of services additional to our repair and bespoke services. Our diverse shop and workshop team can offer you expert knowledge and advice in each of these specialist areas at our shop in Diss, Norfolk, by phone or email.

Stone Sourcing
We have a large selection of loose diamonds and gemstones on-site in our Norfolk based retail shop. Each stone has been carefully hand selected for its quality and value, ready to be used in your bespoke jewellery piece.
Specific loose stones can be sourced at your request through Laura, who will arrange stones to be supplied ‘on approval’ to our shop. This allows our customers to choose their stones from a selection without risk or upfront payment.
Stones suitable for restoration are also available to view and purchase before proceeding with the repair of your treasured heirlooms. If you have requested a full quotation for a piece this usually includes any stone supplying required.
Valuations
At The Jewellery Workshop we offer a full valuation service using SafeGuard, the premier independent jewellery valuation service in the UK. SafeGuard is part of the Birmingham Assay Office, responsible for the hallmarking of metals.
Each valuation certificate comes with the appropriate information of your piece, a valuation price and an image, presented within a SafeGuard package for you to keep. SafeGuard valuations can be used for insurance or probate valuations for both jewellery and watches.
We also offer an in-house valuation service for modern diamond and precious dress jewellery (not suitable for period pieces or watches). Your item will be valued for insurance purposes along with a comprehensive description on headed paper.
Gold Buying
We purchase your unwanted or broken scrap gold with competitive daily gold prices at The Jewellery Workshop. Each piece will be checked or tested for metal fineness before being weighed and calculated against a per-gram price dependent on the daily spot price.
Our shop also purchases second-hand or antique pieces for resale. The stone content, period and condition will be considered and the offer made on an individual basis.
Your gold can be sold to us as credit for any work or purchases within our shop or workshop. The offer is at a premium of 10% more than the cash equivalent.
Before selling your items we would also advise you of any other avenues you might wish to take with your jewellery. This includes restoration, remodelling, or melting and designing something new. Each of these options can be discussed with our expert shop staff before you make a decision.
Create Your Own
The Jewellery Workshop offers a range of wedding ring services, but none as personal as ‘Create Your Own’. You and your partner will have exclusive access to our on-site workshop and under expert tuition you will hand-make each other’s wedding rings.
You will spend a whole day in our workshop mastering traditional jewellery skills at the bench including sawing, annealing, soldering, filing, polishing and hammering to craft your desired rings. All of these techniques will be learnt under the careful tuition of our on-site master craftsman throughout the day.
